i love the olympics. as i watch the opening ceremony, follow the games, and subsequently the closing ceremony, a streak of inspiration is ignited in me.
olympics is much more than just the games.
these short 16 days prove very blatantly that the world can live in peace, if everyone is willing. these short 16 days prove that people don't have to set off bombs every minute of the day.
and the atheletes. how they train every day, how they give up almost their entire life, just to pursue that gold medal. how when they finally stand on that podium, and watch their flag being raised, their anthem being played, they know that all their hard work have paid off. they are living examples of the basic foundation of success, HARD WORK.
the opening and closing ceremonies. how everything is symbolic. the flame, the flag bearing, the handing over of the flags.
it shows that there is just so much in the world you can achieve, so much you can reach for, if only you try to make the effort.
it shows that everyone can lead a fulfilled life, if only they would listen to their heart, because, "the strongest muscle, is the heart."
